Researching……

June 10, 2011 at 5:32 am (Uncategorized)

Trying make my life easier, I decided to search for some quick and easy way to model my object. Haha…

Sadly, most of them I found is that, you needed to place a picture of the object that you are modeling into the Maya…and, well…I do not want to do that because……its cheating?(no offense)

Here’s the video to one of the modeling that I found:

Yes, it does seem simple, all the person did is just by extruding and using the vertex to shape up the gun, and I got to admit: its good.

Sooooo, based on this, I am going to do the same to my object, which is extruding and moving the vertexes as mentioned in my previous post.

I will not be placing the picture inside in Maya as I wanted to see what my eyes actually sees. Sounds a bit confusing huh? In other words, I will be modeling my object just by looking at my object. With a picture in Maya, you will be able to follow each and every line, however, will our eyes do the same? This is what I wanted to test.

About the object I’m modeling!!!

June 9, 2011 at 9:21 am (Uncategorized)

Here’s a drawing of primitive shapes regarding my object:

As mentioned before, this is a gun for Wii. However, when I am modeling this gun, I am going to forgo the holes that are on the gun.(because I find it weird)

Here’s are the views of the gun:(please ignore the back handle)

For this object, I have at first wanted to combine different components, however, it does not really give the ‘togetherness’ feel, so I then decided to model this whole object just using extrude with one cube and combining only two different components together.

I supposed I will be using vetex to shape up the object as will as the add edge loop tool, in order for me to extrude other parts easily.

Story for project !_! !

June 9, 2011 at 8:23 am (Uncategorized)

Right now, I am having a three week break(Yahoo!!), but it isn’t suppose to be a break, as I need to do a lot of project.T_T.

So, I was supposed to come up with a story, with the object I am modeling, which is this!!!:

(yes, it’s a gun for Wii)

The story goes something like this:

The story is about a rat racing around a track on a mousetrap car…(I am supposed to continue here)

And so, here’s what I have come up with:(I will be underlining my object)

Applause and cheers went wild over the stadium as the audience caught sight of Rat walking confidently towards the mousetrap car, which was at the starting line, preparing for the race that awaits him. Settling onto the car, Rat waits for the signal. The race starter, gun, who was rather jumpy, then spoke(?),

“On your mark!” The audience went quiet.

“Get set!” Engines roaring with life.

‘BANG!’

Announcer : “And off Rat goes!” The audience cheers for Rat.

Announcer : “We now see Rat racing through the tracks, and boy, is heeee fast!” Cheers went louder.

Gun, who was still at the starting line, started to get even jumpier.

Announcer : “…and Rat is nearing the tracks that is gone in the middle!!! Will he make it???!!!”

Breaths are held as they watch Rat going towards a slope and was hurl into the air.

Announcer : “…….And he did it!!!!” as Rat’s car hit the tracks at the other end.

At the sound of that, Gun could not contained his excitement anymore and had accidentally triggered himself.

‘BANG!’ ‘BANG!’

Screams echoed throughout the stadium as gun shots are fired all over the place, with one of them hitting the car Rat was ridding.

Announcer : “Oh no! It looks like the car is going to explode!!!”

‘BOOM’ The resounded over the stadium straight after the Announcer said that, and Rat was sent flying as well, straight to the…

Announcer : “…and…and he has reach the finished line!!!” The audience, once again, roar with cheers after noticing there was no more gun shots.

Rat coughed and was starting to straightened up when he was startled as Gun came landing beside him, fainted due to the explosion.

Rat then chuckled : “…Well, all’s well that end’s well”

How was it? Haha.

Texturing!!!

June 9, 2011 at 7:13 am (Uncategorized)

Besides coloring, texturing is another choice, giving the object a more ‘real’ look. And here they are!!!:

(I have remake this!!! Looks better doesn’t? )

As you can see, some of them actually looked quite the same as they have just been colored, but they all have additional attributes in them. For example, the track have dirts on top of it. All of this were made just by adding different textured to it, be it 2d or 3d textures.

To add on to this exercise, I would like to say one thing: “The Hypershade is wonderful!!!!”  Haha!!!

The Hypershade actually shows the blinns, and other, of the object, and if you wanted to implement the look on the other object, all you have to do is to duplicate it at the Hypershade tool and adjust from the attribute editor.

3D V.S Programming!!!

May 18, 2011 at 11:24 am (Uncategorized)

As an Interactive Media student, I deal with programming and 3D’s a lot. To me, learning both of them are quite different. For programming, it is almost similar to solving a mathematics question. “How to I solve this?”,”Are there any other methods to solve this?” and question like that came to mind. For 3D, it is more of …well, more of how people imagine things. It may look good on some, but bad on others. This actually part of learning as well.(from the previous post) People look at things differently, so they learn differently. For example, I find 3D, easy and programming, hard, however, my friends would say otherwise.

Thinking outside of a 3D mindset!!!^_^

May 18, 2011 at 11:09 am (Uncategorized)

There is an article regarding of the title above by Pete Bandstra. I can tell you this, it sure has gotten MY attention.

The general idea is about multitasking, and if you ask me how I actually feel about multitasking, I will say: “There is no such thing”.

You are probably asking me why. Let me ask you this then: “Why is it that some students just miss what the teacher is talking about when they are using their phone/laptop during class?” or “Why do some people often forgot their customer’s order when they are cooking other customer’s dishes?”

This is often the result of multitasking.

I should know, since I encounter these situation a lot,and one situation being my mother. My mother is also another person who likes to multitask a lot, which is why she tends to forget whatever we told her. (*sigh*)

To me, I can’t multitask. At all. It will actually give me a headache if I multitask, so I always focus on one thing at a time. To add on, I do not think multitasking will actually accomplish anything. It MAY give you the sense that you have done a lot of things, when in fact, you have done little.

Of course, you might tell me there have been people who are able to multitask like: listening to MP3, doing homework, watching television, using laptop, etc. I assure you, they can’t. If they are listening to MP3, they can’t focus on their work, if they are doing their work, they can’t listen to audio stuff.

You may not believe me, but, could you actually remember what you have listen while you were doing your, let’s say, mathematics homework. Because your brain is busy solving the problem, it actually ignore the music coming from your ears.(Speaking from experience here).

Anyways, enough about multitasking. In this article, there is a statement “Learning is actually a very complex operation for an individual “, and I agree this statement 100%!!!. Learning is different for each and every one of us, some people learn slow, while others are fast learners. Thus, it is rather a ‘complex operation’ as the statements states. People, I believe, are constantly changing their ways to learn better. I,myself, seems to change the way I learn, even when it is not noticeable. I do not know how I have change, but I know I have change the way. (Sounds contradicting huh?) The only prove that I have is the result I have obtained from tests, exams, as well as how I handle with difficulties.

The last paragraph of the article:

“The students for today’s industry have to have talent and the personality to fit in with the team. As a professional artist, communication is important and the ability to communicate well with other team members is an ongoing struggle. It is well noted that a businesses success rides completely on communication and this area is no different. The ability to effectively write an email, give and take constructive criticism, articulate a solution to a problem, and in some situations talk with a client are foundational skills necessary for success.”

There is no doubt on it. These are some of the skills that is a ‘must have’. We are, after all, human beings, and humans love to talk. Communication is one skill that is almost a necessity like food and water.(In my opinion) It is the bridge that will bring you success or failure in whatever you do.

So, in conclusion, to be able for the younger generation to be able to have a better education and prepare them for the outside world, teachers, lecturers, professors, etc, should first be able to work out the students work attitude. From there, they will be able to improve on the students’ learning ability, be it work or to communicate.

Washboard!!!

May 15, 2011 at 6:09 am (Uncategorized)

Let us return to the past!!! Here’s an ancient (not really) washing machine!!!:

And in color!!!:

Haha, this is another simple object to do. It is just made up of five polygonal cube!!! Can you belieeeevvveeee that!! This is just by changing its width, height and depth, along with bevel, extrude as well as align tools of course!!!

The only frustrating part it that when using the align tool is that…I can’t find the align icons…sometimes……ok maybe most of the time…*sigh* Don’t look at me like that. I really can’t find it sometimes, no matter how much I rotate around the object…

Train…Tracks!!!

May 15, 2011 at 5:51 am (Uncategorized)

Train is coming, train is coming, train is comingggggggggggg!!!! And I present to you, train…..tracks!!!!!!!(Haha got trick did you not?):

and in color!!:

It has the same procedure as the bucket, it needs to to be drawn by curves with the aid of an image. However, instead of revolving it, it is extruded out.

Hahahaha.

This is quite simple to do. All you need to do is extrude the curve that you have drawn and change its shape by using deformers. You could do change it like this:

 or this:

Bulb + Vase!!!…or at least it was suppose to be a bulb ^_^”’

May 15, 2011 at 5:40 am (Uncategorized)

I tried to add a bulb to the vase I made before….did not go so well haha…..*Ahem* Anyway, here’s the finished product:

…Took quite some time to get this shape T_T. It keep giving me weird shapes when I tried to revolve it T_T!!!

Like this:

or this:

and even this!!!:

(ohh looks like a flower!!! Should remember how to do this for future references ^_^).

It seems it is affected by how you draw your curve.(Must taking note *scribble*)
